Ibrahima Diallo is Stade Brest's new record departure. The defensive midfielder leaves the Ligue 1 side and will head to England where he will sign a contract until 2024 at FC Southampton.
According to various media reports, the Saints are paying €15 million for the 21-year-old, who joined Brest for just €2 million from Monaco last summer. Previously, Nolan Roux was the most expensive departure, he joined LOSC Lille in 2011 for €8 million.
"We are happy to bring him in here," Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said in a club statement. "He is an important signing for us, because in midfield we only have so many alternatives, and he showed in France that he is a fantastic midfield player."
